Here we can see plain oak boards being laid. These boards were cut in our own workshops, some are up to 24” wide. They were face nailed in place with traditional cut clasp nails. Hand scraping and sanding after laying gives the finished floor shape and a beautiful traditional feel.
Copper piped under floor heating was fitted. This system does not require the existing
joists to be notched or cut, keeping structural integrity and accuracy.
The floor was finished with Linseed and Tung oils. Keeping the surface wet for 48hrs allowed a deep penetration, protecting the floor from changes in ambient moisture and allowing the under floor heating to operate without floor distortion
